Hi Quitters. I’m a noob quitter 20 times over. Signed up yesterday. I’ve set a quit date of 23 March. I plan to cut down over the next 3 weeks from 25+ per day. Is that too quick? I wonder if there’s any useful tips for cutting back?
I look at my kids and think why do I do this? Im 34 and i feel so unfit. When you cant run cause your outta breathe it needs to change. So here I am. Week 3 of champix and picked my quit day 7 days ago. I have had 2 slips but im feeling great.
Day 56 (week 8)nicotine free.
such an achievement for me.
i once found going an hour with out a cigarette difficult.
so very pleased with the progress i have made.
thank you all for the support you have so freely given.
Name is set as trying
As i will not stop trying
Well i happy to say i have make the 6 weeks mark.
Besides a few weeks ago when i was extremely intoxicated and recall placing a ciggerett in my mouth and lighting it,then finishing it.(dont recall the taste or anything else about experience ,only the complete shame when i woke up next day)
I have done ok .
Hi all, well today is day nine and after day 2 I thought this is going ok, Im using patches but as each day goes by I am finding it harder not easier, is it just me or is that normal. I am still trying to stay strong but sometimes my brain tells me it's all too hard. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated 😁
I'm new to this, but I thought that after 43 day without smoking I needed to try something to keep me going. I'm 60 years old and have smoked since conception, since my mother smoked during pregnancy, and my dad smoked all the while I was going up. I took my 1st puff (not second hand) at age 6. Started smoking everyday at the rate of a pack a day when I was 16. I have tried to quit many...
My first day, first day in years that I have not had a cigarette. I feel like I want one, but I don't. I am going to beat this.
You were right, everyone. Thank you for commenting on my story, you were right. I hadn't made up my mind. I woke up to many nice and encouraging words from you all, and I think that was it.
Yknow, not just being nagged to quit, but being believed in that I could do i...
I have been 31 days quit, its been a struggle with stress and anxiety but i am handiling it.
Since i been quit i no longer suffee pain and numbness no dr could figure out, i gained weight (49 to 55kg) and generally look well. I quit cold turkey.. I also been rewarding myself with the money i would spend on smokes on myself like new camera gear etc. My 6yr old is so proud, my strength and my supp...
I have to do this. I'm 24, soon I'll be 25 and that means I've been smoking for 7 years. <br />Why can't I do this? I can't help it, not on my own. Maybe I can, but it doesn't feel like it.
I remember the day, the day I started. 27/12/2013. Two days before I began destroying myself was Christmas day, I'd separated from the first girl I had ever dated. No...
I busted back on the gasbers today
Well today is my birthday and for the first time since i was 14(iam 42) i have been able to celebrate it being a non smoker and nicotine free.
Also tomorrow is another mile stone for me which i wasnt sure i would make but it will be 5weeks (35days)that i have been on my quit journey woop wooop 😊
I’m 52 and started smoking from the age of 15. I’m an asthmatic with heart arrhythmia and not doing myself any favours to my health or the back pocket for that matter. Tried on numerous accounts without success. Smoking has taken its toll over the years and not sure if it’s failure that’s stopped me trying over again or the fact after a meal, coffee or stressed a cigarette is my best friend. Coll...
Im only at the very beginning of my quiting journey. Its been 3 days since i had my last cigarette (feels like longer lol). Im using patches, which actually seem to be helping a teeny bit. I definitely feel better than what i did when i attempted to quit cold Turkey a few months ago.
I've needed to quit for a long time due to my health, but the stress of everything i had going on m...
It's funny that my reminder email from you guys can just as I'm smoking my possibly last ciggy (I hope).
I dropped my pack this morning in the rain so have 3 wet ones I will save for moments of terrible stress.
I also may have done a bad job in cutting down and still had smoked 25 yesterday!!! It was a bad day.
But we shall see what today brings.
I've got a list that covers as many pag...
Day 4 into no yucky smokes but the momster is in my head
I haven't got cravings as such just the demon in my head. I tell him to go and annoy some one else I don't want or need you near me. Does anyone else have or had this problem. How long does it last felling strong but frustrated
Day 3..seems easier than yesterday, however still early in the day. Hard times seems to be for me late arvo when I would enjoy a wine or a beer and a ciggie. Gonna stay focussed and strong and get through today. My first target/goal is seven days so I am on track. Good luck to those embarking on this journey and congrats to those who have succeeded. I choose not to smoke and will not put one in my...
With support from family, I have been strong. Don't really know what I need, why I am feeling the need to post, but it seemed the right thing to do. Maybe the right words are feeling a little lost without my "freinds" of 35 years.
Welcome to the new members whether joining today or looking in for a peak. We hope that you will look around at some of the stories and realize that quitting smoking is possible for anyone.
I quit by joining a quit group, but this is the best for many reasons. On joining one, you will discover the truth about nicotine and be advised to reassess your relationship with it. You will not be alone...
So after smoking for almost 50 years I half heartedly decided to quit. On my third prescription for Champix (destroyed the other two when I deemed that I wasn't ready). It was given to me in June 2019 and dispensed a few weeks ago. I was quite fearful of the possible side effects so I timed the commencement of the course with my holidays. A few times whilst I was smoking the taste was "different"...
Have only pretty much started.
I have smoked 30/35 cigarettes a day for nearly 30 years.
Started this 18days ago with cutting down using patches.
I am now on day 6 of no ciggerates.
And am a complete mess...

My experience with the Forum is awesome. The Forum helps you talk to others who understand and who can inspire and support you. It's what gets me through sunrise to sundown . Patches help you get rid of the nicotine but friends help you through the other times
I have only been cigarette free for six days I am going cold turkey it hasn't been too bad I have moments of course but I think of the money that's my motivation to me I think you have to change habits for example I don't have coffee in the morning any more I know I have a long way to go but I'm very determined
I don’t feel any different on Champix, I wonder if it’s actually working?
Today"s my second day for not smoking. There are so many risks that we choose to subject ourselves to and think it'll be fine. I'd convince myself that I can take advantage of the gift of life and abuse its privledges, assuming life is a right, but if it were, there would be no consequences. When that realization came to me my first reactive instinct was to be ignorant and reject it. What nonsens...
About to start again. 3 left to go, and then I’m going to be doing this.
I’ve quit so many times. Tried so many methods and am afraid I’ll fail. So scared I’m going to fail.
But I need to quit. I’m spending $350 a week on cigarettes. I don’t even think about it. Spend so much time smoking, I could cry. I feel horrible if I can’t have a smoke break, it’s been my master and I want to kick it ...
https://www.ctvnews.ca/app and enter "vaping" in the search bar. We would think anything would be better than smoking but is it? Anyone can quit smoking. I implore you to do it right. Today there was also a 7th death in the United States linked to vaping. I almost went that route before joining a forum and started to believe that i really could quit the habit/addiction. If I did after over ...
started smoking at the age of 15 averaging a pack a day and am now 30. today is day 10 on champix. my quit day was day 9 but surprisingly i didnt smoke since day 4. i tried to quit several times previously using gums, patches, cold turkey but always failed. champix did magic the last 6 days except for minor nausea and some weird dream couple of times.
