    The domino effect

Posted in Reasons to quit 8 Sep 2019

3 weeks ago I had my last drag on my last smoke. 3 weeks ago I couldn't afford to pay my bills, 3 weeks ago I couldn't sit through an entire game of monopoly with my big kids or chase my toddler in the back yard without stopping for a smoke break or 10. 3 weeks ago I felt down and out and 1 phone bill away from potential homelessness. I clung to those smokes like they were my only friend, the o...

    First day

Hi everyone Today is my quit day. I am 50 years old and waiting on test results to see if I have Lymphoma. I am so mad at myself that I took up smoking again at 45 after 5 years smoke free. Whatever my results I know without a doubt that no treatment will be successful if I’m still smoking. I am feeling ok today ... I have a patch on today but I think I’m ready with or without it.

Forget what you 've been told. Quitting is so hard to do. It is harder than quitting heroine. BS.... capital B....S..... I didn't have access to computers and research like we do these days. I could not join a quit group in the comfort of my own home without family disruption and miles of travel. I had no one to tell me that what i was experiencing was normal. I was alone and afraid and doubtfu...

I have reached the 1-month milestone, I quit because I was coming up to an operation which is on Monday 9th September. I can't believe that I haven't smoked for 1 month the patches have really helped me. I only hope that I can stay quit after I have the operation I think that will be the hardest part for me. I can breathe easier and I passed the breathing test with flying colors in the pre-op. I ...

I have been smoke free for 18 days. GO ME!! In the last few days I've started noticing some changes/symptoms in myself. The biggest of them being anxiety. I had a moment a couple of hours ago where I blamed being nicotine free for these 'new' issues but then I got thinking about this forum and remembered what you would all tell me about having a positive mindset and I realised that these arnt '...
