Day 24 SF. Many many quit attempts. Longest quit time was 6?weeks about 3 years ago. This time I’m ready to make sure it’s a permanent change.
My motto is
I borrowed that from elsewhere but find it a very powerful reminder that I will always be just one puff away from going back to full blown smoking addiction. Using Nicotine patches is helpful for me. My first ...
A bit of a struggle getting through a weekend, but I am surviving. Taking naps and going to bed early to avoid cravings. Cold turkey and lot's of celery sticks!!
Hi everyone :-) I'm back again on my 1000000th quit attempt 😒 I realised I haven't been on here and posted a story in quite a long time! But once again I am attempting to quit (I'm only on day 3) this time around I have been using a nicotine vape everytime the cravings get bad. I have suffered from anxiety and panic disorder for the past 10 years that I take medication for daily. I have had a fe...
Today is seven weeks smoke free cold turkey for me which totally blows my mind when I actually think about how did this happen 🙏 I never gave up on trying to give up. I always wanted to return to that pure state of being that I was before this addiction took over. I don't think I truly believed that I could be a nonsmoker again until now, until this attempt. I love no longer being a slave to the...
Hi, since posting here around 10 days ago, ive now touched down in Melbourne and in Hotel Quarantine. So happy to be back.
Thank you for all the encouragement ive received here.
Day 10 of Champix, Day 4 of not smoking , know its early days but…. The longest ive gone without a puff for 50 years! I know the true test will be when Im “released” but i have put a poster on my hotel wall saying ~ I ...
I am back and I feel fine! I've had some urges but I remind myself they are only thoughts. It's all in the mind. I worked hard to change my mindset. Read and viewed about all the bad stuff smoking does and drilled it into my head. It does absolutely nothing for me. Also read these great posts about how awesome it is once a non-smoker. Thank you all for your posts. I know it's only day 5 so I don'...
Staying active to burn the nervous energy and sleep better
I had smoked for 38 years. Its my 35th day smoke free, I went cold turkey and really didnt miss not smoking. But it really hit me around day 30 the restless nights, anxiety and uncontroled tears. The thoughts of going back to smoke just so I wouldnt feel the way i have been. I havent gone back as i really dont have a urge to smoke or want one. I just dont want to feel the way I am feeling the anx...
I am day 33 smoke free and I have to admit it has not been easy. Been in lockdown and my mum is in hospital after having a mild stroke and not allowed to go and visit her. I would give anything to have a cigarette
Nearly 24 hours smoke free
I'm new to this guys.... technology is not my forte 🤪 I just wanted to thank "happiness" for your lovely comment. Sending you massive hugs. Hope you're doing well and life is awesome.
Hope everyone is coping, we're in this together brothers and sisters 🙏❤️🌻
I am really frustrated today. I finished my Champix starter pack and I am 32 days quit, however, there is now a disruption in the chamipx supply and I cant get any till August. I am using Quitly which is great but would be nice to not have a disruption in my Champix course to allow time for new routines and habits etc to be embedded.
I have been trying to stop smoking for atleast 5 year's now, I am truly over the mind games and want to know how to get the right mindset everyone else seems to find easy?
I have been trying to quit on and off for many years I want to finally succeed and just stop I hate the habit
Day 400 today…trust me it does get a lot easier ! I was at a party last week and I noticed how less anxious I was *not* smoking and less stressed! Usually in a new situation when I smoked I would have cigarettes before to calm me down and during and after . I still like to have mile stones . I know at the start, a day is forever but please have faith in yourself. Put the effort in to treat your...
Hey friends 🌻 hope everyone is coping during this crazy time in life globally.
It's been up and down but....
Wow.... I feel amazing. Now and then I think... I'd love a smoke with my husband...but no... I busy myself with our beautiful kids, keep busy doing many things around the house, knitting scarves for my babes, back to work after school hols, rewarding myself with a nice glass of wine.......
1 week cold turkey done👍 After smoking ~15 cigarettes a day for 20 years I’m feeling very excited for my future. Cravings have really been quite minimal and can ride it out by sipping a cup of tea or just distracting thoughts. Definitely embracing the NOPE!
WOW. This is awesomely totally AMAZING. Today is 6 weeks smoke free cold turkey 🙌 I haven't found the urge to want a cigarette be any kind of issue however I have found I went through a fairly tough period with high anxiety with mild depression. I turned a corner with it a day or two ago🤞I knew in myself that no matter what I go through I would and will not have one puff of a cigarette. From pa...
12 days without cigarettes. Today I had the longest walk in years. 14,682 steps on pedometer. Most one stretch. It feels good, my breathing is certainly better but not quite yet. Looking forward for the one month smoke free.
I have always found that denying yourself the caffeine and the coffee and all the rest is a sure shot to it -- the quitting of cigarettes. I needed a redo of the whole thing. It's alright. But the days of which I stayed smokefree are still that.
Will power comes in and it is a huge factor. How much do you wish to just end this thing? Then a lot of the time it comes around that you do have a lo...
Tomorrow i will be completing 3 months of my quit program. This is by far the longest i have stayed smoke free. I am really proud of what i have achieved and now i wish every smoker can experience the same which i feel as of now. A sense of freedom happiness of achieving something extraordinary. By this i also realise that it is only tough in the beginning. I have come to a point where i do not c...
On to my 4th Day, Cold Turkey here - tough! tough! Been having headaches, cough and a cold, to add to it, it's my Vaccination Day, today!
Been smoking since I was 21 y.o. and I'm turning 37 this year! Typically 10-sticks per day.
All the Best guys 👊👊
Going from 15 to 2 smokes a day, I'm pretty happy with. Taking zyban does help but it keeps me awake at night. I'm not sure if it's because I've never taken anything like it before but it does make me feel a little strange. I started taking two, day one of my second week but WOW....way to strong.
I'm going to stick to just one and consult my doctor whether to continue taking them or not. Maybe u...
today I had some administrative work t finalize downtown and I had some hours waiting. Usually I would smoke like 10 cigarettes during that waiting time, but today I only had a tiny itch for a cigarette that lasted few seconds, when somebody near me lit a cigarette. To be honest I didn't give it a second thought but I drank like 2 liters of water. This seems to help.
10 days so far.
I just want to quit for family a d my own health. Being on a disability pension. It's hard and expensive. Plus I am sick of it.
Hi, guys, its good to be part of this group. I have just started on Champix and am terrified`!!! I have been a heavy smoker for 50 years but have reasons to quit now. Looking for support and any advice on Champix.
I started on COPD Herbal treatment from Ultimate Life Clinic, the treatment worked incredibly for my lungs condition. I used the herbal treatment for almost 4 months, it reversed my COPD. My severe shortness of breath, dry cough, chest tightness gradually disappeared. Reach Ultimate Life Clinic via their website www.ultimatelifeclinic.com. I can breath much better and It feels comfortable!
Well I have been working for myself now for 3 years and started to smoke when I started my self employment, I am an auditor and due to the long hours I work smoking became a "basic human requirement for me" work is stressful and the long hours does not help, majority of my peers also smoke so it is very difficult to maintain a position of stopping, is there others out there that has a similar pre...
9 days with no cigarettes. I have beed smoking for 40 years and this is my 3rd attempt. Tried medications, patches and other things to no avail. 9 days ago I just decided to stop. Few cravings only and now they are getting less and less. What helped me during the first week was going to bed early, very early as I used to smoke a lot in the evening.
Why waste money on something that’s not doing anything good for you or your family, it’s a horrible habit that we all need to beat
I’ve just experienced the worst sleep during night 1 cold turkey. Fell asleep fine but constantly waking throughout the night, vivid dreams, sleep talking and barely feel like I slept. That was a bad night that I attribute to withdrawals, any tips or hope for it getting better?? I’ve never had sleep issues before but that felt like torture
Hey guys it’s been 76 days smoke free though today I tried to smoke and I did half a cigarette without actually inhaling it and realized this is why I quit completely. So I’m pretty sure I’m not going back to it and I’m going to keep going.
Reading previous posts for strength and support. Stopped counting my quit attempts but feel exhausted from the endless battle and need to make this time count. Coping well today, cold turkey, and certainly feel ready to be an ex-smoker. Hope to stay strong 💪
The longer I go without a puff the stronger I get. Today is day 35 cold turkey. I can hardly believe it. Have a magical day everyone 🌅

I am a mother of 3 and work full time, I was always sitting around drinking coffee and smoking 20+ smokes a day. My breathing use to get hard I would struggle to go for a walk of have energy to play with my kids. I started my cut down as of this morning as well as my weight loss journy. I have alot of goals and alot to succeed and would love to help others start where I'm at so they to can have a...
Day 33 smoke free cold turkey and I am experiencing high anxiety but that's ok it will pass. Being a nonsmoker will not pass because I will remain one. Nothing absolutely nothing will take me back to being a smoker I am standing firm on remaining a non smoker 😊
I'm feeling extremely inspired by all the struggle and success stories I am reading on this site.
Today is day 3 of my quit journey and I am pleased to say that I am feeling relatively good. Yes, I have all the cravings with the devil on my shoulder telling me to have just one but I keep repeating the mantra NOPE (not one puff ever) - thank you for sharing this. That's really the long and the ...
Hi, Seven months QUIT now. Feeling good. I still have a thing for carrots! Got a lot easier as of late, no or zero temptation. Wishing you all the best.
It is a better life overall without the temptations of cigarettes. One more thing that I do not need to worry about anymore. It's so much better for my health.
I have seen "day one" several times and I hope this is the last "day one" I live through. The day has not been too bad as I have kept busy enough and reading from this site has helped me a lot. Everyone else can do it, so I can too!!! People smoking more than I can quit and are successful at it. Cheers to all of you that are succeeding. This is the first time I even thought about posting somethin...

hello everyone on Icanquit ive decided to quit as of a week ago but just cannot shake the habit I have cut down to 5 a day but would love to completely shake the habit I have been smoking for 17 years and have had enough of it so I have decided to join this wonderful page to help me completely shake the habit and possibly get some advice from all the wonderful people who have already quit, thanks...
One month down (28 day technically). I haven't logged back on here in the last couple of weeks, so it was nice to see people like Jess still staying strong. 28 days ago I was an absolute wreck. Smoking nearly 2 packs a day for 12 years to quitting cold turkey was rough. But now that's its been a month, and 1,000% easier, I love how I feel now.
For a recap, I binged jolly ranchers, Netflix, vi...
Hello my quit forum friends, how are you all? It has been a while since I have posted, but I do like to pop in and hear about every ones experiences. Many of you have been long timers like Happiness et al, who give 100% support to all the newcomers, to all those who might be struggling and also to those like myself who have been quit for a longer period. In saying that I would like to send a spe...
I have tried in the past to quit. Found that chantix was not the answer maybe cause i was expecting it to help me quit. Truth is you have to want to quit. There is no easy way to do it. Commitment and strength will be what we all need. Good luck to all on this site.
I struggle to do it without patches
I have asked the team to help and supply me with free products to help me on my journey. A patch and some lozenges should help me.
