The last few days I’ve had a few really strong cravings that came up after a year since I quit. I almost caved in on the last one which was fierce. It shows I need to be aware and resist the desire to have a smoke. I still associate it with having a break or unwinding. I’m not going to listen though to the thoughts that tell me that one won’t hurt because I know where that leads. The nope thought really helps me during these moments when I’ve been craving. Not one puff ever. I know I can keep going I know the fight is not completely over but I refuse to give in.

Hi Cuba. I've been off since April last year after about 48 years and still get the occasional overwhelming crave. Especially when I lost everything in the floods in February. That was a stressful 6 months of homelessness and loss. I didnt make a big deal of it. I just accepted that ex smokers sometimes feel these from time to time and to act on it would just give me another massively expensive problem.

As Fluffy points out, picking up smoking leads to a massively expensive problem and physical ones as well.
Stay strong Cuba. You have learned so much since you joined us and you know that we are all rooting for you. Use that knowledge and don't ever beleve that the fight isn't worth it! Someday you will find the end of the tunnel and enjoy the sunshine.

Thanks to both of you. You’re right it’s not only extremely expensive on a financial level but obviously on a mental and physical level also. I am staying strong
