So it's been 3 weeks now. Im currently taking champix as i tried once before cold turkey and i couldn't do it. I feel very proud of myself and there was last week when i did feel like i had lost a friend and felt depressed for a bit which i think is only natural but i am determined to do it, after today will be 4 weeks and i keep looking at the breakthrough app seeing how much money i have saved and also for my health.. I have felt a little happier the past couple days which is good, some days are happy some days are sad but i just have to learn ways to deal with them a bit better. If anyone has any tips as well would be appreciated! Keep going everyone you can do it!

4 weeks as of yesterday. And my moods this week have been better im feeling more positive and optimistic so not sure if the lost feeling has passed now because i dont feel that. I currently am just taking 1 tablet a day as i felt sick of taking 1 in morning and 1 at night but i keep trying to keep positive and thinking the best not the worst! and im liking how i feel now so im going to keep pushing through and keep going because i know i can do it! and i been reading everyone stories and they have helped me greatly! =D

hey robn. thanks alot! there was the last week i think or week before i felt a little bit lost and depressed apparently thats normal because you feel like you've lost a friend but then i just have to keep thinking this friend is no good for my health and its costing me a fortune so no i won't give in and just trying to keep positive and taking it 1 day at a time. i've noticed i don't get as irritable and im a little more positive then i was which i like! But yeah 4 weeks today! i always give myself a little praise as well and i do have support that has helped so im just going to keep pushing through but thanks so much! :D

Welcome Mia, Champix worked for me, but I still had my own thoughts to come to terms with too. I have also experienced the sadness at the thought of not having my so called friend around.

After a few attempts at quitting, I used this forum and read and researched as much as I could about the most hated of all "The drug Nicotine", which kept me hooked time and time again. When I realized that this awful drug was what I called my friend I began to see a lot more clearly. Nicotine does not care and is not human, so get rid of it in your mind and your life forever.

Before you go to sleep think of one good thing that you experienced during your day, soon you will have many joyful experiences to look back on.

Practice NOPE (not one puff ever) in your thoughts as many times as you like during the day and night. It works.

Have a look at a video called "How to be a happy non-smoker" by NASIA DAVOS .....TEDxUniversityofPiraeus.....on utube. You have friends here so keep in touch. Congratulations on 3 weeks smoke free (Nicotine free)

Good job Mia. The sooner you can change your way of thinking about cigarettes, the sooner you will be able to see them for what they are and to let them alone. You are on a journey to freedom, better health, wealth and freedom from an insidious addictive drug, and we can assure you any hardships along the way are worth it. You can anticipate fewer if you embrace the mindset. You are losing nothing and gaining so much more!

Thanks so much everyone your positive vibes and tips help a lot! It's been 4 weeks yesterday and i do notice im not as irritable as i was when i was smoking and i've been a bit more positive, But i know that its not the tablet thats making me not want to its just stopping the urges but im doing the rest myself, And i also read alot of stories here which is great everyone doing so well, I also went to my doctor last week for another prescription for continuation of champix and i just take 1 tablet every morning now as i felt i was getting to sick from day/night tablets and it's perfectly fine for me now but i do notice little things which i really enjoy now such as my moods because i have anxiety and ptsd and i normally get very stressed out and worried and scared and then things going on in my life and that's where im trying to change my mindset a little and changing how i used to do things, yes i still am slightly irritable sometimes and emotional but thats normal i read. But thanks so much everyone your support and tips help me greatly! xx
