Hi cough cough... Thanks for returning to remind us how good life can be without the habit. Also, you are probably battling to spend the money you could have wasted on cigarettes. I am saving $250 a week and it is quite an effort to send this amount. I can't. So it languishes in the bank book... Spent or unspent, it is always better than what we were doing with it reducing it to ash. Just know you will continue to enjoy the ride.

Hey guys! I have been a smoker for 10 years and a half. I am now on my 3d day without a cigarette. I have tried so many times to quit but always failed. The longest time I didn’t smoke was a week or so. I have read many posts here and it inspired me to try again. I am using lozenges Nicabate but it doesn’t seem to work. I still have cravings for a cigarette especially in the morning with a cup of coffee or in the evening after a few glasses of wine. But I always keep in mind how bad it is for me and how much chemicals and poison in there. Please guys tell me if any of you quit with patches, gum, lozenges etc...what would you recommend?

Hi Llisaaa. First off i would recommend that you share your own story so that we are better able to answer any questions. You will recieve an e-mail on your page which is why i love this awesome community. You can actually keep in touch unlike other forums.

Regardless you method of choice, the most challenging part of the quit is the breaking of the habit of smoking. Find something healthy to take its place after meal, coffee etc so that you don't feel that void.

I quit smart turkey, but if i were you, i would take enough nicotine as not to be craving and miserable whilst learning how to live as a non-smoker. A few cravings and putting them off with using the 4 D's is great practice for later when you come off the Nrt. Worry about that later, as it is quick and no harder than cravings you experience now.

Many people, although wanting to quit smoking and have the benefits, just can't seem to wrap their heads around the thought of never having a cigarette again. Strange but true. Here to quit, but scared to. Then they make it harder than it has to be by missing the addiction rather than rejoicing that those little urges we can cravings, are the nicotine monster dying.

So get comfortable for this journey with your nrt. Learn to live life as a non-smoker. When you feel your head is in the mindset, and you are actually eager to take the final step, cut down and go smart turkey. Why prolong the inevitable? When you are ready , you are ready. Just make sure your heart is in it. It will be over, and then you will not crave something you don't want.

Remember that a we only smoke a cigarette to remedy the side-effect it gives us in the first place. Once the cycle is broken we never have to be its slave again as long as we remember NOPE (Not One Puff Ever). One puff is all it takes to set you back to nicotine addiction once free of it.

Anyone can do this. It is as easy as you make it.
