44 days since i last smoked.

Hi guys, i am 21 years old and i have been smoking since when i had 14 years, so more or less 7 years. 44 days ago i decided i will quit smoking not because i had health issues but because of course it harms you and to be honest everything on you smells bad. The first days were horrible, i mean i was angry all the time had a headache and everytime i'd see an old person smoke i'd try to convince myself that smoking isn't all that bad by saying "Look at him he is 70 years old, has smoked all his life and nothing has happened to him, maybe i should start smoking again", But i didn't.And every night i went home i felt completed by thinking that i had achieved a great thing by not smoking that day. The craving are now almost over and i only think of smoking when i drink a beer or something that has alchool. I feel very good and i am not considering to go back at smoking. Guys if i did it without any medicine or anyone's help everyone can do it.Your will power is stronger than anything. Quit smoking and stay healthy, don't sacrifice your life for something that isn't worth it.

Congratulations SFR on your well earned success and good on you for waking up to yourself and deciding to quit so young. Just a word of advice don't ever let your guard down or think that just 1 smoke whilst drinking or anything won't hurt because it will bring you unstuck. Just speaking from past experiences to me. Again well done to you and enjoy your new found freedom😊

You are to be commended for being so wise and determined at such a young age. Unfortunately, most of us were not and so now wish we had been. I hope that other young smokers who see you have quit will do the same. I am glad you are here and learning just how destructive and addictive nicotine is so that you will never be tempted to take up such a vile thing again. Kudos to you and stay smart.

I quit smoking at your age for 15 wonderful years. After the initial hard part it was easy, I was very much a non smoker. Then at age 37 I met a man who smokes and life got stressful. I asked for a puff, then another, then I was sneaking into the garden on my own. I’ve been smoking again for 2 years but will quit now. I know the non smoking lifestyle well so I’m not so worried about that. All I ask is you never take another puff!

Good job on quitting SFR. I had symptoms that affected my mood also and headaches. I think it's fare to say giving up smoking has a huge effect effect on the brain and body. You just have to take it a day at a time though and don't rush it.
I'm a big believer in rewarding yourself for the huge effort. Maybe you can buy yourself something when you get up to 50 days, something that is within your budget. I was buying myself flowers each week, it helped a lot! The flowers were a reminder of not giving up on myself.
