6 months...no butts

So...here I am. 6 months a non-smoker. And I love the freedom. I can never have just one again. I know where that leads for me. Been down that road. My quit started with serious oral surgery. I stopped smoking 2 days before. Doctor said I wouldn't heal properly if I didn't. So I was on a lot of sleep and heavy meds for a week after quitting. That helped a lot. So did the Allen Carr book. I smoked a pack a day for 35 years. So far I figure I've saved about $2,000 dollars. Weight gain was a fear...so I tripled my exercise and actually lost weight. Our dog loves it too. No more stink...no more burns...no more waste of money...lots of lung function. I didn't use nicotine replacement because I wanted NO HANDCUFFS. I would vape a non-nic disposable in the early days...and still do sometimes when I'm around a lot of smoking and drinking. But it's rare.

YOU CAN ONLY DO THIS IF YOU'RE READY. IF YOU'RE NOT OR HAVE ANY RESERVATIONS...YOU WILL SMOKE. Try again. Almost no one succeeds the first time.

Thinking about quitting was harder than quitting. But I was so ready...it was relatively easy. After initial withdrawal pangs...which pass whether or not you smoke...I was amazed by how fast the quit days were piling up. You don't crave what you don't want.

Good luck.
