15 Days since the Big Day; 4th Week on Champix

I never quit for such a long time since I started smoking fifteen years back with 5 to 6 smokes a day (sometimes more).  The good think is that I have started to appreciate myself & feel proud each morning that I didn't smoke yesterday. Sleeping was bit disturbed for initial two weeks, but I feel better now. Started to dislike smell specially from people speaking just after they finished their round or in elevator. Realised how bad I would have looked infront of my non-smoking buddies, collegues and mangers. Feels good that I have to remember two les things  to pick up when going out (my pack and lighter).  Saved $80 so far which goes into my piggy bank for my new Smart TV.

This may be individual thing..... but I used to think too much (some time rubbish) while I was smoking (alone)which is gone and I am happy about it. I am not sure if others have similar expereince ?

The bad is I don't have a place slip into when I am worried or anxious. Although on Champix, sometimes urge to smoke is so terrible, if I had one in pocket I would have gone for it.  Its good I have stopped buying them and would be a disgrace to show my weakness by asking someone for a round.

Today i decided to curb it by writing this..lets see how we go tomorrow.

You are doing well and just by writing here proves that you want to give up. Sometimes it is a good idea to have a buddy, ( a friend you can ring just to chat to and this will take your mind off it) make sure they are not the type to nag. Good on you, I have gone through most of what you have and there is light at the end of that tunnel

Hi Smokey, hang in their Pal, this is what this forums about, help and moral assistance, I'm on day 40 and feeling real good with my self. 2 weeks ago my mother in law left a packet outside, (forgot to take home)I wasn't going to take any chances about me trusting myself so I filled a bucket of water and dunked them!! A bit OTT when all I had to do was stick em under the tap. But I guess how ever good we feel, how ever long we've gone without a smoke we have to on our guard. Case in point is Suse's post above. So, let's not see how you go tomorrow at all smokey. DON'T LIGHT UP!!!!
