Headspace

So over three months of being a new man and it is all to do with getting your head in the right zone or head space. There are so many pressures on life that the old Gary would reach for a cigarette to ease the tension. But what I didn't realize or failed to ignore was the increased risk to my health, the costs of $6000 per year and that the cigarette didn't magically make the issue disappear. It was important that I got my head right. I placed motivational notes and pics around the house and carried them with me to ensure that my actions had an impact on people that I loved. I used to change the TV channels when anti smoking advertisements were on, but now I actually record them and replay them. I am very proud of my effort and encourage people to take the first step and before too long you will be running away from the past lifestyle.

Well done Gary
I'm with you with getting your head in the right zone, It really is one big mind game,So if your focused and determined, Your gonna get there.
I am just over 4 months smokefree and I am so in love with my new healthy self. I love the fact that I am no longer abusing my body after many many years of smoking- day in, day out.
I look back and can't believe i actually was doing that to myself, and I had those filthy ciggies as a priority in my life.
So here's to our healthier smokefree life ( I have also joined the gym like Micky).
There are absolutely no positives from smoking. It's such a negative habit and I really belive that it's just as addictive as heavy drugs except it's legal.
anyway, well done to you, and well done to us all on this site :)

Have to agree with Gary B and Gam. You're head has to be in the right zone. I'm on day 23 and I notice that I'm saying I've given up smoking rather than saying I'm trying to give up smoking!!
