Well ! i am still not smoking and have cut the Nicorette patches down to the 7mg now, they are working fine for me , but i have noticed that if i dont have a patch on in the afternoon i get the mood swings and the cranks, so i would say i will have to be using these for another couple of weeks and they are not cheap $37 for 7days worth ..they are NOT on the PBS ! thought i would let you all know that for future ref. That didnt make me happy because i thought YAY ! on the downhill run to win....But i am still winning because i am a non -smoker now. Just gotta get off the patches...lol

im finding the inhaler system a cheaper alternative as im only inhaling when absolutely cant stand my cravings their for not continous supply thats working for me otherwise i believe that using nicotine is of benifit to quitters transfering the addiction to begin with is the lesser of two evils and can be a step down approach which is needed for long term heavy smokers good luck with your quit

Hi Rhonda, Your patches should be covered under the PBS. We are currently making changes to our fact sheets to reflect this however you can find information on what is covered by PBS at http://www.pbs.gov.au/medicine/item/4571N should you have further problems with this please contact us at prevention@cancerinstitute.org.au.

In regards to using nicotine replacement therapy (patches, inhalers etc) there have been clinical trials which show that NRT can increase your chances of quitting between 50-70% for more information please check out the quit guide: http://www.icanquit.com.au/quit-guide/methods-to-quit/nicotine-replacement-therapy

Good luck with your quit journey!
