I know to drink more water. It is also good to cut a straw in half to chew on when on the phone .

Drink loads of water, every time you feel a craving drink a glass of water slowly. Chew regular chewing gum to keep your mouth busy, listen to music in headphones (the best distraction for me personally) I can sit for hours listening to my favourite artists'. EXERCISE!! This will really help you to keep busy and get endorphins through working out and sweating instead of smoking. Watch movies/TV Shows, meditate, read books, find a new hobby, go for a walk, keep busy at work (if you do work).

There is plenty to do and learn Gorbet. Learning how smoking has never done anything for us, and actually is the cause of most of our stress goes a long way in retraining our minds and accepting the journey. That in turn makes it easier and more likely to stay quit. You only need to quit once, just make it last. Welcome to the forum and learn through experiences of people just like you. Together we can be winners.

Am pretty nervous about my quit date tomorrow. Am going to start with having breakfast which I never do. Have always had a coffee and cig before I shower and get dressed.

Cut your intake of caffeine by half when you quit nicotine, as its effect on caffeine is diminished and may make you feel jittery, anxious etc. Stabilizing blood sugars etcetera by eating nutritiously also helps. You can make the adjustments necessary, just as you would any life change. Accepting, rather than resisting makes it less of an ordeal and more of a reward which it actually is. You will never regret the decision to return to being a non-smoking as you were born to be.
Stay positive. Remember that you are not on this journey alone. We give strength, guidance and inspiration to each other.
