just a dad looking to quit for his young sons sake chaps, any tips on how to distract yourself or beat the cravings would be appreciated

One day at a time, it’s hard but not too hard if u remember why u don’t want to do it. I’m only day 3 but having a proper go. All the best.
thanks heaps so far it has been pretty easy on day 2 hoping it keeps up lol

In terms of keeping yourself occupied when having a craving, I found that doing online typing tests for 5 minutes helped keep the hands and brain busy!

"Mate" its a mind game, think of your son and the fact he deserves his dad for a long time and you will succeed. I too gave up 5 odd months ago, just looked into my 9 yr olds eyes and though yep this has to stop.

Keep it up bud! I'm on day 8 and hoping to continue! My personal tips to beat cravings are to drink plenty of water, read books (I'm not usually a reader but I find it extremely helpful to just take your mind off things), work out every single day for at least 30 minutes, I've been using Dualingo app (to teach myself Spanish) it starts off basic so it's simple to spend 30 mins on this. Do whatever it takes to beat the cravings. You can do it!!

Mate, I tried quoting for 20 years. This is what worked for me.
Google veppo
Get yourself a couple of suorin air vaping starter kits and order a couple of 30ml flavoured liquids with 18mg nicotine.
Next order reduce the nicotine to 8mg
Then next order 4mg
Then order zero mg with just the flavour.
I guarantee you will not want to smoke cigs ever again

What is working for me is using a a vap with nicotine when I feel the need and using nicabate lozenges a few times a day. I go for a walk in the after noon. I didn't drink alcohol for the first bit as I would associate drinking with smoking. I stayed away from people who smoke or situations which would make it hard for me in the beginning.

Chew a lot of gum! I buy 4 or 5 packs at a time and chew until the gum loses it’s taste and throw it away for another piece. Also I sleep a bit more. I also force myself up by staying busy and distracted. Hope this helps.
