I've been trying to quit for a while now I only seem to last a day or two. I know that now is the time to quit. I hate the feeling of smoking and how it makes me have no energy and the price is ridiculous. Can anyone give me any tips that helped them quit for good or even how they lasted the 3 day hump. I'm putting this out her and making sure I update regularly to keep me accountable. Having my last couple of smokes in my pack and I'm done!!

Hi Haqo, well done for signing up on here and for taking the first step to quitting. I think it is all mind over matter and breaking habit and staying strong. I am on champix and today is my 7th day smoke free. In saying that, it has been a fight to stop the temptations and ignore the cravings. Everyone is different so I think it is all trial and error with different methods to see which one works for you, however like I said earlier, it really is mind over matter and breaking the routines and habits. Good luck with your journey. I know you can do it if you put your mind to it :o)

Hi Haqo, well done on your decision to quit. I am on day 9 smokefree and can't believe the difference in how I feel compared to just a week ago. I found the first 3 days very difficult both with physical cravings and mentally - feeling down, hopeless. I couldn't see how I could go the rest of my life without smoking, so it felt pointless to even put myself through the hours and days of pain just to fail. However you can't think like that - you just need to think about right now. Decide not to have this ciggie. Decide you won't smoke today. Keep a list of your reasons close and keep reading the forums and any other documentation you can find. Your brain will try to trick you into thinking you need to smoke, but you don't. By day four, I felt like a fog had lifted, and although there are still moments of cravings and hardship, it feels like I can finally think about the future clearly now. Also the moments of hardship are outweighed by the moments of overwhelming pride and the feeling that I can do anything. So stick at it. Just get through today. And tomorrow will be better. :)
