I quit for 2mths. Then started smoking again worse thing i ever did. I felt so good not smoking during those 2mths it was amazing how many changes your body goes through in such a short period. Since i started smoking again i have been sick and now i have asthma and a wheeze on my chest that i cant seem to get rid of all because i started smoking again. I had my last smoke today and its going to be so hard and as i have learned its all in the mind which is a powerful thing when it come's to addiction its like you have this devil inside your head saying have another smoke its ok but its not ok. I will stay strong yet again on my journey to becoming a non smoker and keep telling myself that i dont need that smoke and i find also when you do things that i associated with smoking i do other things now that i dont associate with smoking and that gets me through my cravings. Goodluck to everyone on their journey☺

Hi ell, my first day yesterday of quitting after 33 years. Survived 1 day so I must keep off the poison sticks for another day then another day. Was very hard yesterday but kept telling myself I don't need this anymore.. Checked in a couple of times yesterday on this site when it was getting to me and read a couple of stories which gave me that edge to keep going....good luck and stay strong

Good on you ell, it really is all in the mind, once the nicotine has left our body it is just a mindful addiction! I'm still struggling after a month haven't adjusted my mind totally yet, still having a coffee with an e cig , without nicotine, but I need to stop the connection like you said! Good on you for trying again, they say it gets easier each time. You don't want that cough and wheeze to get worse my wheeze wasn't my asthma getting worse as I thought it was emphysema! So do it now before it's too late! Good luck on your journey and keep posting😀

Good on you ell for getting back on the horse. It is inspiring to know that somehow the giving up (with all its pitfalls like cravings and anxiety) still feels better than going back to it. Thanks for letting us all know that and good luck.

You might surprise yourself. You may have learnt some coping stratergies. You will have experienced a new way of doing things. I quit smoking off and on last year. I have those experiences to go by. I have learnt and done things differently. This has given me much more confidence. Good on you for having a go. You can only gain from your decision. Well done.

Hi, thankyou all for your support☺ its been 7 days and is still really hard especially when my partner is still smoking around me but to make it easier i have changed my daily routine and started doing different things when i would normally have a smoke and that has helped. Hope you are all still going strong☺
