Need support please! Must quit for my children

Hi guys, I would love some support/advice please. Im 30 with 3 children. been smoking since I was 14. I find it REALLY hard to try and quit smoking. I get agitated easily, and basically think about how much I want a cigarette literally the whole time I "attempt" to quit.

I feel like a horrible parent. I only smoke outside so it doesn't affect the kids, but I hate them seeing my smoke packets and dirty ash trays ect. They beg me to quit all the time. I feel so weak.

plus I feel awful always spending money on smokes (we don't have much to begin with). im really upset. I want to quit, but its so hard. I feel like a piece of c**p telling my kids to be quiet when they tell me how bad smoking is....

can someone please help me? whats the best way to quit? how can I distract myself from the constant cravings? ive heard cold turkey is best, as nicotine replacement can just make it even harder as you are replacing the nicotine? need help please!

Hi, am really feeling for you & can definately relate. Unfortunately I can't help you today as I'm having a bad day, going a little insane on day 5. Still...I know it can be done. If you have a look at my other posts they may be of help and inspiration. Let's see how I am tomorrow on day 6 & about $75 richer. My neighbor said to me this morning, just remember your actually paying these big companies to kill yourself! hmmmm cranky cranky... how ridiculous are we...

I quit cold turkey and I wanted to quit. You will quit when YOU want to quit. I got sick of seeing the money being thrown and away and I know you can do it!!!!!!

Hi love,

I have tried cold turkey i struggled emotionally and physically. I am now on patches first day. It is definetely a mental and physical thing. I find going for walks and just literally taking time out for me. My partner is my support and see's my struggles. Any time you feel down let me know and we can do this together. Stay strong love.

hi,

just think that you are patient and you are treating this body to over come nicotine addition. drink lot of water for first fuew day, feel during urinating that nicotine is going out and your brain starts to adjust without nicotine. eat lot of fruits when ever you crave. todays in take of fruits,vegitabels,helps your body to overcome from nicotine for next day.
