Hi

Hi, my names Damon. I was smoking cigarettes since highschool in year 7. I have been smoking cigarettes for 10 years which i quit for about 4months but got back into it. At my previous job i was allowed to smoke a cigarette during quiet moments on my shift which became a ritual and led me back into the habit. I'm trying to get fit again, so i purchased a bike, elliptical trainer and a treadmill and am looking to kick cigarettes for good this time with the help of this site to track my progress.
Tips
I recommend making a ritual with your food habits and exercise routines before you begin to quit, i felt it helped give structure with the transition.

Dear Damon, Go man, Go. I wish I was fit. I am doing more cooking than I used to. I get a real thrill out of putting a meal on the table for my Husband. I also like to cook large quantities for my Sister's household. My doctor has asked me not to smoke while I cook. I don't think about cigarette breaks in the kitchen anymore. I can relate to what you are saying about having a routine. It is very important, I agree. I should get a bike too. It could improve my balance. Yours sincerely. Penelope Jane.

Hi Penelope. Thanks for sharing. I enjoy cooking too. It is fun to learn new recipes, purchasing the ingredients, and learning to master your favorite dishes. But yeah to re-emphasis you could say it's like your conditioning yourself to replace the habit with another. Exercise is great too, just as with cooking there is also a great deal to learn which can be fun. Might be hard to kick it off but once you get into the groove it, ll be like water off a ducks back:)
