Help

New to this just wanted to see if anybody has had the same symptoms
I quit cold turkey 6 days ago and since the second day I have suffered really bad with anxiety and depression I have had it before but never like this
And what I can only imagine as brain fog not been able to concentrate or focus and just lost interest in everything I like doing
It's like I can be doing something I like and enjoying it then I switch and think what's the point anymore
Tbh I haven't really wanted a cig or had bad physical symptoms had some aches and pains last night but nothing major
It feels like I don't want to be alone but don't want to be around anyone also
It is really confusing me feel like im losing my head
Sorry for the long rant I just wanted to see if this is normal and put my mind at ease and see if anyone has a idea when it will pass
Thanks

I can assure you Linn, that you are experiencing what most people go through to varying degrees. How intense and for how long will depend on you. A few like myself had mild cravings and moved forward very quickly while others struggled through an hour at a time. When you WANT to do something it is anticipated and exciting. Quitting smoking can be like that too if you view it in a positive way. Don't look at it as depriving yourself, but that you made a conscious decision to change and reap the many rewards. In the early days you will feel less fatique, breathe better .......

.......continueing on, you will find you are tasting the food , appreciating breathing clean air and you no long smell foul when you enter a room. Are you impressed with the savings? Multifply it over the the years and you will be astounded at both what you have spent and then what you will save in the long run. Treat yourself to things you didn't have due to the cost of this nasty addiction. Be proud that you are capable of beating this addiction and that it pays you to do so. I

Hi Linn, I’m going through the same experience as you! Quit cold turkey and the first week was very hard. I’m on day 15 and the head fog and difficulty concentrating is still there. I’m feeling very emotional with episodes of anxiety and depression also tired all the time. Exercising is helping a lot, if there is something you like doing it I highly recommend. The psychological effect can be very overwhelming. I have called the quitline and registered in the program which means I will tall to someone every week for 4 weeks. Talking helps!

Also I went to the doctor to make sure my health is in check. Waiting to see the results. Just remember you are doing the right thing and that things will get better. Getting emotional support is important as we don’t get that from smoking anymore. It’s a big change for our brain to get used to it. Wishing you all the best! You can do this, make sure you seek help as it can be a bit of a lonely road :)
