Wow. I can’t believe I made it over 1 year.

It was not easy for me and I still get thoughts, urges from time to time but not as intense or frequent as the first 3-4 months.

I appreciate those of you who can post/write your journey when you were going through your quits. I am not a writer and found it difficult to express myself during the beginning stage of my journey. I was so mentally all over the place I found it hard to concentrate. Your stories help me tremendously and I spent many hours reading your tips, challenges, and recommendations.

Keep up the good work! N.O.P.E.

Believe it! You are stronger than you thought. Be proud and happy about this amazing accomplishment!

It is not important if you are a writer, but that you are a reader, and learner. Your success spurs others on and has an invaluable lesson for others to take note of.

Congratulations on your very significant 1 year milestone. Keep up the positive thoughts!

Maximum respect Rsan you have my full admiration for that- what’s your key advice for those of us 1-12 months into stopping?

Mark O that is a tough one. One urge at a time using different methods; sip water slowly, 10 deep slow breaths cinnamon sticks or straws I would breath through 5 fast in/out breaths.

Mental thoughts you create to remind yourself of what smoking does to you. I would imagine a cig as the tailpipe on an automobile black fumes and all.

I was really hoping I would do more exercise which helped me with a previous quit 20 years ago but I felt so down with no energy and was not able to get that dopamine increase that helps the most!

Do what work best for you don’t give up. There is no reason to smoke, millions of people deal with stress, trauma, excitement, depression etc. and they don’t smoke. Don’t make excuses that is the mind addiction talking. Lol, it's like fighting with yourself.
