I have slipped up again. On day 4 again. I think o have identified why I keep letting this happen (I grow complacent knowing that nicotine is out of my system and I’m underprepared for the cravings on day 4). To combat this I have set up reward for myself on day 5 (kids will be back at school so I’ll have some me time). I am heading off for a shower now because I know I won’t want to stink once I’ve showered. I will beat this monster. I am also going to start yoga tomorrow morning so I can measure my improvement from not smoking and staying active. If you have any other tips please share them with me.

Being a non smoker is my dream and I will make it happen. ☺️

Hi Kirk,

Its bloody hard!!!

I haven't smoked in 8 weeks. I wouldn't be able to do this with out the use of nicotine patches. I use a 21mg initially, than 14mg and 7mg. Normally after two weeks I forget to put it on one day and I normally feel that I could go with out it and stop.

What is your biggest reason to quit?

I was originally on the patches and had quit for a month but all my hair started to fall out. I have been to the dr about it apparently there is something in the NRT products (other than nicotine) that my body reacts to so quitting for me will have to be cold turkey.

My biggest reason for quitting is that I am studying at uni to be a teacher and I don’t want to be a cranky teacher because of withdrawals and I don’t want to smell.

I really like being a no. Smoker and I disgust myself when I smoke. For me it’s the brain fog that causes me to cave. I can’t stand not being able to perform basic tasks. I’ve read Allen Carr’s book and I think i would be more successful at the end of uni semester when I’m not under so much pressure but like I said I like being a non smoker and don’t want to wait for a better time.

Lol! I really do, do this to myself.

Hi Kirk88,

I think my best tip for you is to work on your commitment to quitting smoking. Start by making that the priority It is easier said than done as I have found out myself as I have wavered in my own determination to stay focused. But if you can be single minded about it that’s the key. Choose to have the freedom of being a non smoker. That’s what I am doing. There’ll be no more smelling bad or expense of it and your health will improve dramatically.
