Hard Times

I’m almost 4 and a half weeks quit with 1 slip up. I’m still having a few cravings daily but now it’s the mind game of staying quit. I have to admit it’s hard - the day is not so bad night time is quite tough though. I’m doing things to replace smoking in general and next week I’m joining the gym! Need to get some weight off too. I’m trying to stay positive and focus on positive things and thoughts. That’s what helps. There is definitely a part of me that wants to smoke but I feel like I’m finding the strength to keep saying no. And I’m going to keep saying no until it goes away. Rewiring the brain isn’t easy or maybe it is creating new neural pathways I am not sure 🤔All I know is the last month or so has been a big challenge. My main tip is to focus on the good things in your life and deal with the negatives gradually. Quitting the smokes is a big step in the right direction .

Quitting smoking is positively a step in the right direction. And it does get easier, as we create new neurological pathways and change oiur way of thinking. Eventually we become used to the new habits and thoughts formed and comfortable with them. It is kind of like starting a new job, no matter how qualified, each place has its own way of doing things and you have to adjust to them. It doesn't take long to settle in go with the flow unless you are the rebellious sort.
Welcome this new change in your life, just as you are looking forward to going to the gym next week. Positive changes are ALL worth looking forward to and accepting with thanks. Any rough spots will be put far behind you.

You are doing well my friend! Stay strong. Keep up the good work. I love your positivity. Yes, focus on the good things in your life. You got this!
