Adjusting

Going from 15 to 2 smokes a day, I'm pretty happy with. Taking zyban does help but it keeps me awake at night. I'm not sure if it's because I've never taken anything like it before but it does make me feel a little strange. I started taking two, day one of my second week but WOW....way to strong.
I'm going to stick to just one and consult my doctor whether to continue taking them or not. Maybe use different methods.
I want so much to quit for my beautiful kids.... I promised.
Has anyone else experienced side effects with zyban?

Welcome Lioness, I havent had particular experience with Zyban, but it seems very similar to Champix, where you are given scripts and getting monitored by your GP, I only took half a dose but it still worked for me, you might consider reading up more about the addictive substance "Nicotine" and prepare yourself for when you stop the Zyban. NOPE (not one puff ever)

The first step is to feel the need to quit. once that is done half the work is done. that has been the case with me. In my earlier attempts i always tried it by reducing and everyday i felt i can reduce it further. Then one day something happened i would again get back to my old habits. So this time round i said NOPE. and i stuck to it. After 3 months i think this is the best method for me. i did not go for NRT. Yes, i made it a point to engage in physical activity as the withdrawal can be distracting. Good luck and You will be successful.

I did not like Zyban years ago . It made me disoriented and forgetful
I quit cold turkey and found it easy. I also cut down suddenly to just 2 or 3 cigarettes a day and that was the hardest part. While I have to admit that I looked forward to them, I also tried to smell, taste and hate every drag. Make something that you do NOT want anymore. Change your way of thinking and change your life.
