Hi, how are you guys doing? I am 75 days smoke free and beer free. Last week until today the anxiety is on the roof. I am always reading on the internet about health and I start worrying. I was already checked by my doctor and thankfully all normal, i just have a gerd. My anxiety triggers if i search something on google about health, when I had a little wound in the feet I searched it on google and there are some results that is not good. I know I need to get off the internet when it comes to something like that and better get myself checked, but I don’t know in myself I always read on the internet and if I read something that is not appropriate my anxiety attacks. I practice meditation every night and drink a tea. But man... i don’t have this kind of anxiety before. I always pray and talk to God about this. I hope this is still part of the withdrawal. I will not go back to smoking ever. Maybe I will have a drink occasionally but I will never ever puff a cigarettes anymore. Guys pls give me a tip how did you cope up . Thank you and have a nice day

Hi and congratulations. You can read our stories and the replies given to gain some ideas you might try to cope. You have done 75 days and it becomes easier with every day that passes. When we accept our new role as a non=smoker and are truly happy for the benefits and being free from the addiction, it will no longer have lasting effects. It does not cause your anxiety either. Smoking has never done anything for us in true fact. When we shun it for the deceit we once believed, Poof..Gone!

All I can say is smoking has taught you to think you could not cope. Everyone has used this drug in various ways and for different reasons, but it is a continuous circle and eventually, your brain accepts the untrue thinking about not being able to cope. (this is the trick that Nicotine uses).

We are stronger than that, you will need to stop catastrophizing about every small detail. I look online for different conditions, but I use this as a guide to either eat better or to exercise more, at least I am helping my body in the right way. I do not ever want the smoking to control my mind or body again. Do not make any huge decisions until you have calmed down.

You are on a learning curve to accept that we are emotional beings but with practice, we can achieve the inner calmness we need at the right moment.

Give yourself a break this is the silly season, just keep repeating NOPE (not one puff ever) do a couple of deep breaths and continue on with your day. You can do it!
