Mind over matter

I’ve only been a smoker for about 3-4 years. I found one step at a time helped. So I’d stop having a smoke after 2pm. I finished work at 2pm so that would be my last smoke of the day. We went into lockdown. Perfect time to quit. I only allowed my morning smoke the first few days then I completely stopped. Instead of patches or medication I found having a few puffs of a cigarette (every second day) to relieve the withdrawals helped & I had no temptation to smoke more.

Day 1-4: Calm before the storm? How did I enjoy those days. No problem at all.

Day 5-8: headaches & moody

Week 2: insomnia, sweats & anxiety

It’s day 16 & i finally slept good last night

Congratulations Kazza. Thanks for posting and encouraging others by letting it known it is not that bad. I must remind everyone that just one puff can take you back to the starting line. While you succeeded this way, it is not recommended and would more often than not sabotage ones quit plan.

Thanks guys. Having control of your thoughts definitely is the key. I didn’t need the puff but the way I see it... I just forced my body to smoke for 4 years so how dare I just force it to go without suddenly 😂 its so cruel 😂 but this approached helped coz I know I will be quitting. I definitely won’t be going back to smoking. I love your comment Red 💓

Thanks so much for the kind words

Hi Kazzzza. While you are absolutely right when you say "it's Mind over Matter" and that is what we hope others will also grasp. A positive attitude and plan are essential. Kudos to you and knowing your own mind. You are very committed and strong willed. :) Not everyone is as strong and focused.
