Ease my mind please!

Hi everyone :-)
I am new to this site & am after abit of advice if anyone can help me.
I am currently 9 days smoke free & i have quit before in the past for 2 months, but for some reason this time around seems abit worse.
Last time i quit i struggled alot with cravings but didnt have many symptoms, this time around im only onto day 9 & i feel my sinuses are blocked & i even have abit of a sinus headache & a sore face & feel abit meh in general (similair to when u have a cold) this all started yesterday (day 8)... is this normal? Did anyone else have a similair experience?
Also i suffer from anxiety & abit of depression which i take medication daily for, & i am finding quitting is messing up my anxiety abit also :-(
I would love to hear from others on any similair stories?

Welcome KingxKelz, congrats on 9 days, you are doing well. Yes it's quite common to feel blah and get flu or cold symptoms. It is a big shock to the body and brain I'm sure when we pull the pin on pumping the poison. Smoking is an addiction 20% approx is nicotine which the cold or flu symptoms can present when cut off. 80% is the habit, which can be a struggle for your brain. It's ok to feel out of sorts for a bit, a small price to pay for your ticket to freedom and fresh air. Just try to keep busy and remember you are losing nothing, but gaining a pay rise by quitting, a spring in your step to rid yourself of the shame of smoking and not to mention smelling so much fresher. So hang in there, you have got this. I am super proud of you😊👍

Great thanks heaps for the comment :-) i was considering even asking the doctor if i should up my daily dosage of my anxiety medication, as long as i know these feelings are definetly short term, it makes me feel alot better :-)

What you are feeling is normal, in saying that I am not a Dr and cannot give medical advice. It wouldn't hurt to check in with your GP if you feel like your anxiety is getting too much. Take care x

smoking causes anxiety but fighting agaist quitting smoking will also make it somewhat harder. Why not read Allen Carr's book and make it easier on yourself. Knowing the enemy makes him easier to combat.

Hello. Just to add to what everybody else has already said : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vx8iUvfyCY&t=1116s maybe this can help you. It worked wonders for me and helped me sleep and wake up fresh and almost anxiety free.
