Thankyou so much for all of you that posted when I'd had a setback! I am doing quite well right now; I have an inhaler I'm using, a patch on, and am smoking less than I used to, I think!

Oh Myf. That really is not using a product as intended. What are you gaining by doing this? If you were to throw away the aids, and make smoking uncomfortable you would cut down naturally. Learning how to change your perception of you and smoking is what is really needed. Start despising the time smoking takes while you stand with it DOING NOTHING! Until you can truly find the desire to quit smoking you won't. Why torment yourself and abuse even more drugs? Why further decrease your self esteem? You will do this when you are ready.

Something sparked you to join, and where there is smoke there is fire. But even a fire has to have oxygen to keep it fueled. Careful fanning of the fire will keep it going and build into a roaring blaze. Don't give up Myf, but don't torture yourself. Read and learn. Knowledge is power. You can do this.

You can start by counting out how many cigarettes you put into your mouth every day that is the least you can do. You don't need any more lectures. The next step is to trust in yourself more and keep in touch.

Fair enough everyone, but I was doing better with them! I waited hours yesterday before I got some cigarettes on the way to a yoga class, which I thought could replace cigarettes! I then had dinner out afterwards, and it was really good, until I went out onto the street to smoke a cigarette! People don't find smoking acceptable anymore, and I felt that! However, I have still smoked less than I used to this morning, thank you! And I'm still using an inhaler and a patch to do this!

At least you took up yoga it seems as a new healthy habit, so score one for you! We all enjoyed that one after dinner and I am sure that it is the hardest to give up. Learning to put off having that next one was too hard for me, and I jumped my quit date to go cold turkey and get it done! I took up other things and reading as much as I could on the quit site I had joined. I sat next to hubby who smoked, but he also quit true to his word after he got hold of a book by Allan Carr. It has help many people to understand the mindset that we feel is important and so very helpful in this mission to freedom. I am going to post the link directly to you here myf because I am hoping it will get you started in the right direction. We really are only trying to help you and to make it easier. Your success makes us feel good, your disappointment is also felt by us. We especially bond with those who stick around and assert themselves, many just come and go. So you are out front of the pack right now myf, and hopefully you will cross that finish line. We will be here to cheer you on.
