Day 2 and i’ve had half a cigarette with morning coffee. Day 1 was definitely made easier by not drinking wine. Got some NRT lozenges now. Hard to hold a thought for long! What was I saying....?

Change your morning routine, it worked for me, i use to have a coffee and smoke on the balcony right after getting up, i wake up 15 20 min before getting ready for work, yes i'm a man:-) , the less i linger at home the less i was feeling tempted

These days when i put the kettle on, i make the bed, do up any dishes etc. .... little changes do help.

You can do this Wingspan. Think how vile those poison sticks really are and tell yourself you are done with them. Do not give in to missing then . Be happy that you are on this journey and will be free of them, the expense, the stink and the misery they will cause. The cravings are but mere thoughts, and will go away if you ignore them. Take deep breaths and drink that cool clean life giving , water.....

Hi Wingspan, I'm on day 12 and had a slip up too in the first days. But after I had my half Cigarette or 2 puffs, I had to think that it was certainly not worth giving up my nonsmoker status, and that is exactly what it is doing. Think of every puff you take as having starting on day 1 again. For me it became much easier on day 5, the cravings eased off big time and my day wasn't consumed in thinking about smoking. Good luck to you and stay strong.

Thanks all. Changing the routine and reminding myself of the positives is good advice. Not sure I agree that a slip-up means all efforts so far have been wasted, although that psychology certainly seems to work for some. Day 3 coming up.
