Week 2

I have now got to week 3 stopped on day 12 . Now on day 16 but still waking up in a morning and lighting a cig up “still enters my head” . It’s making me feel once I stop the champix , I’m going to fail .

Hi Hev, just think long and hard about why you started this journey? Surely not to throw the towel in at the thought of a bit of a struggle or fight. You can do this if you really want it, you just have to want it more than you want to smoke. The choice is yours and I think you need to dig deep and back yourself and quit smoking and quit looking for an excuse to throw in the towel. Come on buddy keep busy and stay strong!!

You did come here , hev, so you must feel some need or WANT to quit. We are adults and know that anything we want we have to work for. You have to put in the effort yes, but how much pain you endure is up to you. Read our posts, learn about the mindset that makes the journey oh so much easier. You are on an aid, take this time to start changing behaviours associated with the cigarette and how you FEED about the cigarette after you have learned about nicotine and yourself. You ARE a slave to its addiction. When you satisfy a craving, that HIGH, that jolt of RELiEF (we thought was pleasure) because we were no longer in a withdrawl state. Non=Smokers are on that HIGH permanently now because we no longer need the nicotine. As smokers, we didn't even realize it at the time, it was normal, un mindful , unrealized at the time. Honestly, how many cigarettes did we smoke unconsciously? Did we think "what a great feeling" or "isn't life great!" with that jolt of dopamine? No we didn't, except when we were held up and long overdue for our puff. Most times it went totally unnoticed, we were just getting back to Normal, which is a non-smoker state. A drug free state. Free of Addiction.
Stop missing smoking. It did nothing for you but rob you of your money and confidence, looks and health. Find little pleasure to give you your little lifts in the morning like playing with your pet, calling a loved one, doing something that pleases you. Indulge is a special treat, followed by a walk or activity to compensate. Both can be good for you. Even changing your lifestyle to a healthier one takes your mind off smoking either while actually doing it or researching it. I find a lot of us here have starting cherishing our health and doing more for it these days. Good for you and keep up the quit!

Hi , thanks for all the comments of support , I'm now on my 6 the week on champix , only fleeting thoughts of a cigarette , and that's when I'm bored . But I am getting to the days where I have to remind myself that I am even on tablets to stop smoking , and take one.. So that's a good thing ...

Sorry , I didn't say , I quit the cigarettes on the 8 the day on my tablets , I really could have quit on day 3 if ide have had a better mind set . Ide also like to just say to that a lot of my friends have been frightened off by Internet reviews and side effects etc etc . I suffer with bad anxiety and take medication for this , and I have been totally fine with champix. A bit sick after the tablet lands in your stomach , but that can be solved 1. Once u completely STOP the cigarettes and 2 , eat before and after , even if it's just a buiscuit and milk it helps . I also was told that if the sickness didn't go away , that I could go back to the half dose. Hope this helps anyone that's reading up our positive reviews .
