Hard

Hi Thomas. You haven't given us much to work with here.
This is a great site for support and advice and friendships as well. How long have stopped smoking and what Nrt are you using. Breathing and oxygen levels improve almost immediately you quit the intake of poisons via cigarettes. More oxygen should hence give you more energy. If you are depressed about smoking then you just want to stay in bed. If that is the case, it will pass i should think. Positive thinking, rather than negative will make your quit much easier. Please look around and follow some success stories. Utilize advice given and you should feel better soon.

I might add that deep breathing exercises do help to increase your lung capacity and oxygen intake. Look up diaphragm breathing. If you add more info, others may relate and better advise. Feel better soon.

I quit cold Turkey and am on day17. I smoked for 50 years, so it's hard, especially the fatigue. Does anyone know how long it takes to feel better.

Thanks, don't worry, I never plan to have another cigarette, in fact, the smell of smoke is getting disgusting, just didn't think it would be this hard, take care!!

Hi Thomas. Its me again. Thanks for additional information. Robn is so right with the advice. We both advocate the mindset and i have extensive postings if you wish to follow them and learn. That is why i posted them, to help others have an easier time of it. Sorry i get long winded at times, but I do feel it is soooooo important to understand that you have to WANT to quit and to DESPISE it. I can't stress that enough. I quit cold turkey too, but the mindset is for all.
I would love to hear back from you and others on my pages as to whether they were of any help. (and which idea)
It does get easier i understand , but doing it WILLPOWER alone can't be fun. I had no cravings after the initial nicotine was out of my system.(3 days) The psychological lasts as long as you allow it to.

I smoked for about 45yrs & have been quit now for 18 months, although I would never have a ciggy again, & the first few months I felt really healthy, after about 6 months, I have been continually sick, with Allergies, Sinus problems, chest infections & low oxygen levels, can someone please help me out, & tell me if this is normal, because I am getting fed up, of one thing after another.
