Don't just Try....DO!!!

So you are here with thoughts of dipping your toes in, and testing the waters . So you made the resolution in a half hearted way, perhaps to make you feel better so you can say "well , I tried".
Now is usually advocated because otherwise excuses are made and the "right time to quit smoking" will elude you. If you are here without any plan or preparation, i would advise you to just set a quit date for two weeks time. Take this time to read posts, learn about nicotine, learn about yourself, learn through others mistakes and be thankful they won't be yours if you heed.
The objective is not to quit smoking but to become a Non-Smoker. A non-smoker lives life without the aid of a cigarette. You will be learning how the cigarette does absolutely nothing for you but instead holds you prisoner.
You were once a non-smoker, but our minds cannot recall how wonderful that felt.
As a smoker we lived in constant withdrawal cycles, which became its hold over us. It's insatiable hunger that just grew and grew and demanded more and more time and dug deeper into our pockets. It thrived while we started to languish . It became out crutch in our minds and we became afraid to even try to throw those sticks away and run for freedom.
Fear no more. Once you see nicotine for what it really is you will find the resolve in your mind to declare to yourself that you too can escape the tyranny of the addiction.
The right mindset which i advocate helps to make this journey much easier. Know that it can be easier than you ever dreamed possible. NRT and tobacco companies don't want you to know that. There are no cold turkey funds to advertise it as the most successful method.
Read, learn from my posts which i have made for others like you. Read other success stories, and there are many. Visit the sites i have given links to. The most important thing is to give it every possible chance of success. Open up your mind and heart to becoming a HAPPY NON-SMOKER. We believe you can do it. Now all you need to do is believe that.... and do what so many are afraid to even try. There is nothing to fear but fear itself. Knowledge truly is power!
