Can my story help?

Hi people. I posted a couple of times earlier on my journey. Ive reached 2 weeks, might not seem like much, it’s huge to me! I gave up when pregnant and just spoke to my son at 21 years and Realised I have smoked all his life. After breastfeeding. 2 weeks in feels doable. I’m sick of thinking about it because I’m over it so look forward to the day when it’s not on my mind at all. My sister visited this weekend from out of town, she smokes and was considerate enough to ask if she needed to go somewhere else but it didn’t bother me even with a couple of wines. I know I always dreaded the feeling of wanting a smoke while I was a smoker thinking about what it feels like to be a non smoker but I think the natural tablets I’m on are really helping me push through. Still having coffee in the morning and enjoying it. I’m not a sales person or a success story but hoping my story so far will strike a cord with someone. 2 weeks is better than day 2!

Hi Loriwill quit.
Would you have ever thought you would be 2 weeks a non-smoker after more than 20 years?. You should be jumping for joy! I am glad you are doing the things you enjoy in life like having your coffee, spending time with family (especially a member that smokes) and having a glass of wine. Good for you! There is life after quitting. I just met up with my one sister than is a non-smoker and it was nice to sit in a cafe for 2 1/2 hours without having to excuse myself for a fix. I really enjoyed the time because normally i would be fidgety and only half there. I still hang with friends on break, but is nice to have a choice when the weather is nasty. Does that make me a fair weather friends? lol
It is your journey, you are in control and that also means bad news for the nicotine monster. You are just hearing the death rattle now. I have no doubt who will emerge victorious!

Good for Lorri the feeling of not smoking will not only make you feel 100% better but also make you smell nicer and you need to make an effort to talk to people that have just smoked a cigarette and realise that is what your breath used to smells like .The best way I found to remind myself how unhealthy they really are is to put a few in water and leave them around the house, and also get someone to put a few butts in a tin for you , when you get the urge to have one open the tin have a good sniff and put lid back on go look at the cigarettes in the water the urge will be gone . Good luck it’s hard to do but a year goes quick and it’s fantastic when you have succeeded. Good luck.
