7 days down.

I’m 7 days cold turkey today and wanted to put some thoughts in writing. To be honest the cravings have not been as strong as I thought they would be, the thing I find mostly a hinderence is the restlessness and confusion. I find myself pacing for no reason until I snap out of it and focus again. I’m starting to get a couple extra hours sleep, using breathing exercises , although I am still waking every hour or 2. The benefits so far are great; my kids don’t smell smoke on me anymore, I don’t feel guilty or second guess kissing my wife, My teeth and gums are really starting to get a natural colour back to them and I just have an overall feeling of accomplishment because this has governed my life for 20 years. I tell myself and others I’ve quit, not “trying to quit”, i’m not going to smoke again because they are filthy and have no benefits what so ever.

Congratulations on a week of freedom!!!! Huge congrats on cold turkey as well. On day 3 myself but am using an NRT. One of my favorite things about not smoking is not smelling nasty so many wonderful things about not smoking. Keep up the amazing work you're doing great!!!

Great job on 7 days quit. Quitting effects people differently sometimes. I had strong cravings in the first week or so, then it settled down. I remember being at work on the first 2 days quit and I was spaced out and muddled. Had a lot of issues focusing. It was so weird. Thankfully that didn't take long to pass! I was waking regularly for the first couple of weeks also.
