Starting out

schedule 9 Aug 2018

I quit 2 days ago Cold Turkey. I am doing this for many reasons, including my health, children, wife, etc.... I have smoked for 20 years and am finding that all I think about all day is how to sneak a smoke right now. I fight the urges, but it is a challenge. I spend quite a bit of time alone in the car as I am a traveling salesman. Anyone have tricks/tips on how to keep mind occupied? I really want it this time.

schedule 9 Aug 2018

Today was THE morning!!!! I woke up super early filled with energy. I can breathe, things smell good, I realized I have been making my coffee way too strong....LOL. I FEEL FANTASTIC!!!!! THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN MISSING MY ENTIRE LIFE. Feels good to not rely on some crap product that is going to kill me in the end.

I found that chewing gum was very helpful. I have not smoked since 4th April 2018, after having been a smoker for over 50 years. I loved smoking! BUT it was killing me, health and money-wise. So I stopped, cold turkey, used Allan Carr's book, and reminded myself that even one puff will set those nicotine receptors on fire, in my brain, and I'll be right back at square one in no time at all. I found the first four to five days so awful that I have vowed I'll never put myself through that again. So I will never smoke again. Just have to keep coaching myself! I wish you good luck, strength, and Success!! You can do this.
