I'm going through some relationship stresses and trying to stay quit is hard - very hard. I'm trying to replace a smoke with other things. I've been drinking a lot of tea haha.

I'm okay when I'm not stressed but now I want one more than ever.

Could I please request some positive comments that can help me through this? :( thanks guys xx

Hey Lanii, yes it is hard, but try to focus on how great you will feel when you get through those first few days.If you don't put one in your mouth(especially when you are dealing with other crap)then you will feel so empowered that you can do ANYTHING..but you will choose, not your addiction..Take control Lanii temporary pain for lifetime gain.Just do it Lanii just do it..No matter what! do not smoke..NO MATTER WHAT

schedule 24 Jan 2018

Hey Lanii, Everytime you're stressed out and craving a smoke, quickly occupy the next 5-10 minutes of your time with something else, such as a game on your phone or start reading something until you forget about smoking. You have to stay strong and never give in! Unless you want to stay a mental slave for nicotine and let the tobacco companies own your life you must do something else.

Hi Lani,

About the stress, i can guarantee you that after a couple of months you will be able to cope with stress so much better than when you were a smoker!

Just keep up the good work and stay smoke free!!

Hi Lani, I have really bad anxiety and that is what kept me from quitting in the past. I am on day 24 and feel much better. Yes I am stressed, but realize that the cigarette will not change the situation or the outcome. You can do it. Have faith in yourself. It does get easier and you will learn to deal with the stress differently. I have started to take walks or take a bath instead of having smoke. Keep us posted :)
