As my title suggests i am really struggling with quiting. This is day 13 for me and so far ive saved $150, money is my main reason for quitting. A couple of days ago i experienced a really stressful event, and am still stressing over it. So my first thought was having a cigarette, which would mean buying a packet which would probably lead onto starting up again. Im trying to stay strong but its not getting any easier for me. But reading some of the stories on here is helping me realise that smoking will not make my situation any easier and will infact make it worse because ill feel bad for starting up again. Any advice from someone who has made it past the first few weeks would be appreciated.

Congrats on making a new start into a new lifestyle......how many of us have been and still at times have a struggle with ourselves over a smoke, and to think if i only have one, well we all know that that one could easy lead to a packet plus....

Your mind can play tricks with you as your body is still seeking the chemicals that you as a smoker satisfied it once, i always refered it to the Nicotine Devil sitting on my shoulder, just waiting for me to stuff up..

There is no secret recipie and each of us is different on how we handle a situation....i think mine was i was to stubborn to give in and very focused on my goal, and yes the $$$$$ savings is a great motivation.

Be mighty proud you have made a start to a new you.

Keep in contact in this forum and if need be, treat it as a Diary, we have all been at this struggling stage.

The struggle will pass, I am also its been a little over a week for me 9 days. I don't want to smoke but sometimes I remember smoking at certain times and Its about learning new ways to do the same things and its tough but don't smoke we all want to cross the finish line better than we were before. Find any and all distractions to keep your mind off it, I do a match game on my cell phone its free and distracts me. Keep at it you got this!
