Anger management

I quit smoking almost 2 weeks ago...i have had 1 cigarette in that time. I was starting to feel really good about my quitting. Almost all of my irratability was gone...and here i am almost 13 days in and I am finding myself with an extremely short fuse over stupid stuff. I can only hope this is temporary! I recently injured my leg preventing me from being able to be as active as i would like to be, maybe that has something to do with it? Who knows!

Hi paf60177, welcome to the page and sharing your story,
Congrats on starting your new journey into your new lifestyle, your body is going through so many emotions and the one thing your body is craving for is the nicotine that you are denying it.....you just need to be strong in your will power not to give in.
All the best on your new journey.

Hi. I feel for anyone fighting cravings. 812 days ago I named my craving for nicotine, "Margaret Thatcher". Spent most mornings telling "her" where to go. She was relentless but it was so much easier to say no to "her" as opposed to denying myself some supposed enjoyment. Also discovered that nicotine does nothing to alleviate the problems that give us grief in life. It is just a short-lived distraction from a problem the will persist. Trust you can relate to some of these sentiments. Have quit after 45 years smoking.
