Day 18

Hi, I've come this far, so far. It's a little like my body and mind has had a last ditch effort to hang on to nicotine crutch, as the last 2-3 days the cravings have been quite strong, almost stumping me, but really short lived.
I decided to join a gym last week, a really nice one. Its a pleasure to be there. I had an appointment with a personal trainer, which comes with the joining fee. He was encouraging and lovely, and made the first month plan achievable, i.e., 30 mins treadmill, and 30 mins weight bearing exercises x 3 times a week. I can do that, I thought.
It is good, I am enjoying watching youtube on the treadmill while I walk. Plus most importantly and relevantly for the purpose of this story, gym days the cravings don't come. One hour at the gym is giving me a day free of cravings ... so it appears at this early stage.

you're doing great, 18 days is a huge accomplishment. The worst is over and it only gets easier from here. Just stay strong so you don't have to go through those first 18 days again. The cravings will get easier just don't give in!!

Keep up the Good Work !!! I am at day 63 and penelopen is correct ....every day will hopefully get easier !!! Just never take another puff !! Keep your head up and stick on the Ice !!!

Totally agree, sport helps for the cravings... Good to hear that other people are using this strategy. There was a while (the first weeks) where I was not sure that my addiction to cigarettes just got replaced by the addiction to jogging. But now at 70 days it turns out not that bad... So go for it.. you can do it..
