Day 60 Tomoz

The first 50 days were tough no doubt about that. However I have been focusing a lot of my time now to a health app and I find instead of checking how many days or how many cigs my focus has changed to this other app. I've changed my routine in the morning and now walk or cycle with my daughter to school. I also now cycle to work and home which I love. My focus has totally changed to how I want my new life to be. I think about that a lot now and focus on making the necessary changes. I love being outside saying hello to everyone and rejoining the community. Smoking is pretty isolating. I honestly haven't had a craving for ages and hardly think of it now. Instead of checking my quit app I check my heartbeat or how many steps I've done or stress levels or check how much water I've drunk. The point is the focus is on my health, which is a very pleasant change. Anyway whatever works. Keep strong everyone we can do this.

Congrats to you Nannette. I'm on day 48 and feeling great, however a bit flat about putting on 4kg so far. Can I ask what health app you're using? I've never focused on my health before so now might be a good time (she says as she's drinking a bundy) 😁

I am doing the same now. I check everything and my stress level has been excellent! I'm spending more time out and about with rhe kids and loving. Your doing great!

Hi AllyV, the app is called S Health and is a free app from Samsung on my phone. I keep checking it as it tracks sleep, steps, cycling, running, walking and you can even track food. I'm just trying to keep my weight in check I too put on 4 kg but at least I have stabilised and not put Anymore on. I just decided better to focus on what YOU WANT not on what you don't want. I find it good to check my heartbeat and stress level if I have a craving as you have to keep still and quiet and it's enough to stop you and focus and the craving is gone. Keep strong

Good work Nannette!!! I too have put weight on. I've not weighed myself because my motto is "whatever it takes". At the same I'm not going overboard on the munchies (or at least trying (lol)) But I'm guessing 4 kgs would be close. And you're soooo right about the time to quit. Putting the weight on now (which we knew would be a given) means we can burn it off in the warmer weather when we feel healthier and fitter from not smoking...
Bring on summer!!!!

Hi Nannette, it continues to be a breath of fresh air to see you back here. You taught me to dance around to music and that has the double whammy of lifting your spirits and shaking off calories. The latter not that easy but everyone focuses on your clean skin rather than your plump waist so don't worry about it for now.
We deal with a shocking addiction and, even tonight, I would have gladly popped into a store to buy some. But I know it is not the ciggie I miss but the memory of smoking it.
Keep up your extraordinarily bright and bubbly aporoach and lean in when you need to. I think you were personally responsible for my success and the success of so many others in our cohort.
Keep on cycling!
Hey Nannette. I hope you realise that you motivated me to keep going many times. Before then I had quite a few practice runs. I occasionally stalk this page to see how everyone is doing so I was thrilled to see your name pop up. Hope you're well and life is good. Keep dancing.
