Feeling alone.

I have a friend that quit with no trouble at all. I am currently on day 4 and I feel terrible. I get bouts of extreme anxiety and depression. I get tingly all over. I haven't slept well in days. Is this normal? I could google it, but I need to hear from a real person that's been here and knows what to do.

Awwww Krennic sweetheart everyone is different and we all experience different effects, it is just a matter of going with the flow, I cried for about the first week, I also ranted and raved at family and felt that nothing was worth what I was going through, well I can honestly promise you that things will get easier- a bit easier anyway there is no easy way you just have to take things one hour/smoke/day at a time. Come back on hear often and read and write posts as we all need to be there for each other

Hey, I found this also helpful... this online support does really help. you can also read: http://www.iquit-smoking.com/nicotine-withdrawal-day-6.html
This also reminds us that what we go through we are not alone... everyone deals differently.... Just dont give up and believe that you can do it!!

I understand what your feeling and it's horrible but I believe normal for a lot of people. I still, at day 40, feel easily overwhelmed and get anxious quickly. I can't seem to be as 'overloaded' as I was before and maybe that's a good thing. Keep posting, I have ranted on here a few times, it's great to get it all out!

Listen to Chezzel, flower, she's a wise woman. "Normal" is such a funny word. Since I signed up on here, I have seen all sorts of withdrawal effects but anxiety, depression and sleeplessness have been the most common. The nicotine should have left your system by now, what's left now is the nicodemon trying to create fear. This quitting thing was never going to be easy and that's good! Seriously! Once you've got through this short-term trauma you will never want to put yourself through it again so you will never smoke again. THIS IS SHORT-TERM!!! Have some distraction techniques ready, we're all different and use different things. Mine was just to have a list of jobs to turn to, easy mind numbing jobs like ironing or tidying cupboards or painting a fence. Just something to stop you thinking about it. Also using this sight, like Cranky said. In the morning I used to make a coffee and smoke in the garden, when I stopped I exchanged smoking for checking on any new comments on here. It's very therapeutic. Keep posting and let us know how you're getting on. You can do this, flower, you did the hard bit already - deciding to stop. You're amazing for that one thing. Keep your chin up. Hugs

I have been 10 minutes stopped and reading all the comments its scary as i have smoked for 45 years, sick of that little white thing ruleing my life. Hope i can be as strong as many of your comments have shown.
