5 days and counting

It's been 5 days since my last cigarette after 25 years of heavy smoking (up to 3 packs a day). IT IS difficult but i'll shortlist what i have done so far. - Get busy: i installed curtains, wall paintings, painted wooden pergola, fixed lighting, cleaned my car, - I used the patches at first and third day and 3 gums on second day. - Minimize the caffeine: i used to drink 3 cups of coffee and same of tea. I only drunk one cup of coffee and one cup of tea, replace it with juice. - If you can go somewhere away from daily routines and stress especially for these first few days. - Drink plenty of water (minimum 2 liters) and juice. - Walk and take deep breathe in the fresh air every day. - Try to do sports: I ran for 15 minutes a day during walking. Ride bicycle yesterday (i never done it for years). - Read books - Distract your self from craving by anything. - BE positive and be proud of yourself and of what you are doing.
I hope this would help anyone wants to quit. Thanks for your support.

Hi Mahmoud42,
good for you on giving up smoking, you gave some great advice, in the first few days yes you must keep yourself busy and a change of your usual habits, mainly on when you would be having a smoke, fill your mind with other thoughts.
Have confidence in yourself you can do it.

I am proud of you and impressed that you use to smoke 3 packs a day. Well done!
