Week 5 done!

I found week 3 to 4 really tough, but week 5 just whisked past, without much of a thought about smokes - I now am sitting back outside in the evenings, with my fish in the aquarium, where I used to sit and smoke, and no problem at all..

Had drinks with friends, been to pubs, stood outside chatting to the stinky smokers, and week 5 really seems to have broken the back of this addiction..

I tell people I am a non smoker, act like a non smoker, and have no intention or desire to smoke again..

I am over $1000 in the bank, have adjusted my budget to save for an overseas trip next year, and love the free time and less stress of constantly looking for a reason or place to smoke..

I am not breathless anymore, not rushing around or at the shops all the time buying smokes, and not dependent on nicotine at all anymore.

It has been the most freeing week of my life since I gave away my "Emergency Stash" of cigarettes last week, and not having anything to fall back on if I slipped.

I have picked up a few pounds, since quitting, but not adopted other compulsive habits or behaviors, and glad about that..

This has been the hardest, and best change I have ever made in my life.

Keep on quitting guys, its really worth it..

Fabulous update Dave. Congratulations on being able to do all the familiar things you are doing although this time without a cigarette. It is telling that the freedom has come after giving up your emergency stash.

I agree - it is the hardest thing to do in life and I hope it will be the best change in life. Keep up your positive attitude.

I am now on day 90....I have days that just float by and days where I still feel like smoking. The latter are becoming less frequent, luckily. Be vigilant at all times.
