It's Friday...ahhhhh!

I quit 5 days ago, it is Friday and I would usually have a few beers after work and plenty of cigarettes. It just doesn't feel the same and I'm feeling the cravings so much worse than the other days. I really want to be smoke free so I'll just try to remember why I wanted to quit. :)

I know how hard that is. On my first Friday I set myself an extra task to do at work and stayed back to let the witching hour pass. I don't suggest you do that but perhaps say 'At 5.30 I am going to do XXX' and make whatever it is last until 7.00pm. It is really hard but you will feel sooo proud when you have done it. Good luck.

try and dodge this Fridays drinks and go out with someone close, that cares that you don't smoke..

get stronger before a big challenge like this..

drink a bottle of wine with a girlfiend or partner, and stay away from the temptation - it's only one evening in your life.. and 5 smoke free days may not be enough to deter the urge tonight..

Good luck..

Thanks for the comments guys, it really is empowering reading them. Came straight home after work and having a beer here. There are no cigs in the house so I'll just keep using my Nicolette spray and get over it :) cheers

Good for you Alice - it takes great determination to steer clear of the Friday night ritual. You've done it once you can do it again. Well done.
