I've reached day 38 and feel like absolute crap! My face has exploded with pimples and I have put on a lot of weight and I have this awful constant fatigue! I thought it would be much better than this after a month! But I'm not going back (as much as I would just love a couple of drags).....I know that's the worst thing ever!! Any tips/advice or similar stories?

Hi Kazzy, a few pimples and a few kilos beats the alternative to keeping smoking. I have experienced the pimples and a few kilos as well but Im getting comments now that I look healthier, so that's positive. You are going so well, I can assure you it is so worth continuing on the journey. I actually feel FREE now, no more stopping and staring all day, no more coughing or having breathing difficulties but best of all HEAPS MORE MONEY. We are all barracking for you. Stay determined. xx

Thank you everyone for all your lovely posts. You do help me to keep going! I look forward to reading everyone's story and can relate so much. Pimples and weight gain are nothing compared to emphysema, stroke, heart attack and cancer! I feel like a whinger complaining! Oh well this is the site where we can support each other, thanks all!

Hello there!

I think i have the right solution for you. When you quit smoking the first thing you get is cravings. We (smokers) all wanna do something to replace that empty hole. Usually a lot of ppl, when they get cravings they reach food. Extra kilos are gained because u are used to smoke and do something on your breaks, free time etc. I did that too first couple times when i quit. Try this: when you feel hungry (and you are not hungry that's another craving for cigarette) chew a gum. Not nicotine gum but normal one. Buy a pack of gums and you should have them always with you. When u are nervous, you have break from school/work or some free time insteed of buying some snacks chew a gum. By the way congratulations on your quitting keep strong!
