I've set my new date for Monday 14th,and have bought some nrt gum, swore i'd never do that as the Allen Carr book said not to...but I've read that book 5 times;-(( Anyhoo,I'm glad I've posted, hope you are all well.

Good on you for being honest and for checking in to this site. It shows your determination and, from what I have read, shows that you are definitely not alone. So much advice from so many sources - we have to find what is right for us. Good luck and don't beat yourself up. It would have been so much easier not to post tonight.

Thanks a million, yep,I've identified my biggest trigger which is an emotional one. had a major relationship crisis 2 years ago which rears its head every other day. Smoking just keeps it alive even though we've pretty much dealt with it. will keep posting ;-)

Thanks for being honest Shasha, it helps to get it out and share with others rather than hiding and feeling miserable on your own, we're not here to judge but only to help. We all understand & have been there before. I know emotional stuff seems hard to deal with without cigarettes, I still struggle greatly with that. I try to remember that if your feeling bad or stressed or emotional or whatever, in actual fact a cigarette is not only going to help you dwell on those feelings but it will be making it harder to breathe, make you stink, send you broke & so on which is just adding more problems on top of your existing ones. This is the reality - it's not your friend and not helping you with your problems only adding to them. Hard to think this through at the time, I know, but if you have it locked in your brain somewhere (the truth about the cigarette) you may just be able to use that amo next time. All the best, keep trying.

Oh Shasha , bet your glad you have got that of your chest because the good new is now you can move forward.as all the reading says it takes a few attempts to stop. All the best for the 14th.x

Get back at the quitting as soon as you can - don't guilt smoke the second one, because you had the first one - it will lead you back down the path... re-quit ASAP again, and try pick up where you left off the quit state, and ignore today in your count as a trip and fall.. the getting back up is most important.. good luck...

ps.. throw them in a public bin next time, as there is no chance of getting them back..

Hope it works out..
