Day 7

Posted in Quit experiences
schedule 24 Aug 2015

I'm just hitting one week no smoking, cold turkey. I smoked for 12 years, average about 15 cigarettes a day. I'm feeling much better than yesterday and the day before! I still feel like 'slipping up' every now and then, but I don't because I know that if I do, it won't stop how I feel, it will just postpone it, and I will wreck the work that I've done so far.

I couldn't concentrate for the first few days, and got really grumpy yesterday! But I feel much better today and I think it's just going to get easier. I read somewhere that it's about relearning how to do everything without smoking. That's what I'm trying to do now, so that I don't feel like having one, when I would have previously. Now I'm looking forward toward two week mark (phew, I hope that I get there!!)

I really like reading your stories, I think we can do this! Be strong everyone, you're all awesome! xoxox

schedule 25 Aug 2015

Oh Well done. I experienced all of the above in those early days when I gave up. All I can say is STICK WITH IT it does get easier as each day passes. It is so much more than just giving up smoking you learn so much about yourself in terms of your determination and confidence and you end up applying this and making really positive changes in your life. I save my dart money daily and I have found this really motivating. Soon you will be at Double Digits Day 10, then Day 14 so just keep ticking them off. Make yourself a star chart for the fridge for each day it is really motivating to see all those stars everyday. Keep strong x
