Day 30 Here I go

All really good. Just checking in to keep myself accountable.Up to 830 dollars which I can't believe!!! Cravings are zero which is soooo good. It really is just getting through that first month and then you feel really good and you start to realise that you are definitely on the road. I'm all over my work now and not having any difficulty concentrating or staying focused.it really feels like I've been given my life back and I'm behind the wheel and not a SLAVE to darts and gee that feels good. Gooooo everyone and thankyou.xxxxx

Hi nannette
How did you get past the cravings for smokes? I am a single mother that doesn't work at the moment. So any help would be good

Hi Megz90 , I know where you are coming from. I actually rang the quit line regarding this craving thing. The man I spoke to said it was imperative to form NEW habits to replace the cig break. So I have to admit initially I kept checking this site a lot during the day and also started to jot down new habits that I wanted to form and incorporate them into my day instead of darts. Might be eating a piece of fruit., reading a few ages of my book, going outside doing some gardening or sorting out small drawer. I also did some research on the net about goal setting and forming new habits to get my brain thinking in a new way and it has helped.i even jolted down things i wanted to do in my day to mix it up a bit. The more you can develop new habits in your day the less you hold on to the old routine that just reminds of times in the day you smoked. Plus as a result of my research on the web I have new goals and I'm thinking of them through the day now . Hope this helps xx

Megz I see this whole quit thing as new start andI have to change things and the way I think if I want to move in a new direction . I can't hold onto the old routine and I don't want too x

Well done Nannette. It's amazing how much time is dedicated to having ciggies throughout the day and night. Now I have so much spare time and see the importance of forming new habits to fill in these gaps so I'm not tempted to fall back into old habits. Thanks for the advice Nannette. Good luck. Lets keep going!!!!!!

Hi MJ45 , I was telling a friend of mine about giving up smoking and the new habit thing and they said."if you always do what you have always done then you'll always get what you always got. ". I thought that was very appropriate for the quit smoking journey.dont forget to form the habit of a little bit of "ME " time caus as we know it's a big job being a mummy. We are going well MJ45 and we have sooo many new best friends on here who are encouraging us. My new goal is to become a member of the ONE year club. I'll just keep climbing every mountain.......hope you have picked a song for the journey even Feather is going to pick a song ..... Xxxxx
