Black lungs, an image.

So... a while ago I used this website to post that I was quitting. Honestly, I was unprepared and began to smoke again. I posted my apologies, and was thoroughly disappointed in myself.

In the last year, I did quit: for ten weeks! Unfortunately, on the tenth week I celebrated... with a cigarette. Such is life.

But, it's another opportunity to quit today, and I'm on my second day. I know I've beaten one day, so I want to beat two! And then I'll want to beat three!

I am seeing a doctor who was very concerned for me, tomorrow. I'm sure he'll be very proud of the progress I have made.

To help my story contribute to others, here are some details of my quitting strategies:

-When I want to smoke, I imagine a pair of black lungs.

-I use this website to keep myself motivated. Reading the stories of people who have quit can be inspiring, and-or put cravings into perspective.

-I'm going to put the money I save into a savings account so that I can be reminded of exactly how much I am saving, and rewarding myself with that money will be twice as rewarding.

-I am quitting with the support of my girlfriend, and I hope that me quitting will improve our relationship.

-It help me a great deal to set a quit date for smoking. I found that every day leading up to my quit date, I was becoming more and more eager to quit. The momentum helped me through these first two days without cigarettes.

Lastly, it's only day two, so I have a long road ahead of me. But with the support of my doctor I am positive that I can quit for good this time.

Thank you.
