Whoo hoo....made it to Day 22....feel so great.....last year I caved in on Day 21 but this time no chance. I have found this time cold turkey to be so different and so determined to quit...I am amazed. 'Bonza' as we say here in Oz....brilliant in other words....I am a nonsmoker!

But I am feeling bored. ...lonely. ....anybody else feeling that too? And hungry!  But I guess thats all part of the quit journey and day by dsy it will pass.

Continued success to all. .....xx

Well done! Day 22 cold turkey is absolutely brilliant. I did that once, and remember the 3 week mark as a real turning point. Unfortunately 2 years later I had one at a party and 20 years later I am on Champix. So embrace your new healthy like, don't look back. As for feeling bored and lonely, you've lots of spare time now, perhaps start a new hobby or join the gym or take up running or climbing/surfing/swimming or anything at all.

Whatever you do it must be a wonderful feeling that you are no longer a slave to cigarettes and won't have to break off every half hour for a smoke!;)

Thankyou thisisit for your kind words. ...yes I do remember last tears attempt failed at the 3 week mark. ...I am pulling out tge bug guns to avoid that happening this time. I actually went for a walk yesterday along the beach...will head out again this morning. ...think I'll start to embrace that to pull myself thru and give me done 'me time' ... and also start to eat better than I have. I am feeling great about quitting. ...have no real cravings. ..just fleeting thoughts of having a cig n cuppa but that's quickly quashed.

Best of luck to you....xx

Way to go "quitf4me"! I know what you mean about bored and lonely, I feel the exact same way! Even though I work full time, have a family, walk my dog twice a day and go to the gym a few times a week, I still feel like something is missing. I feel bored but don't know what I want to do, I guess I feel a bit lost because at those times when I would normally smoke I don't quite know what to do with myself. I've taken to drinking a lot of tea and water as a replacement, so when I feel bored I make a cup of tea and that seems to help. I'm trying all these fancy flavoured herbal teas and quite enjoying them. See if you can find something you like to fill in those gaps of time when you are not sure what to do with yourself. But so far you are doing great! Isn't it wonderful to feel so healthy, what a difference! Best of luck to you, keep at it!

Hey there KAM....how u doing????

Thanks for your post....shall try tea too....loving peppermint tea these days...might try and have a cup or two during the day when I feel lost, bored...or miss the cigs. I usually drink coffee but might swap that round abit. I've been walking these past 3 mornings...alittle further then previous day to get up to the dreaded 10,000 steps...with headphones on and pedometer counting off we go...quite enjoying the "mummy time". And I have bought myself a new wok to make yummy stirfries which I love...really trying to love myself back abit as I just "hate" myself at present for putting myself thru all of this....24 years of smoking! eeeeek...how much I could of saved in that time....but yes I do feel healthy and my facial skin is glowing and looking healthy too.

continued success to you too....and keep us posted! xxxx

Fantastic. Well done. Adjusting your life to walking on the beach is a great solution. I want to take up drawing. So far I haven't fitted it in. I have however taken to cooking. I enjoy being a provider. I have been doing the fruit and vegetable shopping which gives me more options in the kitchen. I love it. Sometimes I walk to the shop. I like walking past people and saying hello. Or when you smile at someone and it cheers them up.

Hello penelopejane....many apologies for the delay in replying to your post. Adjusting my life to a nonsmoking quite has been quite the journey....(as you prob know)..but its been enjoyable in the sense that I'm trying to keep busy and to add "love" back into myself and body to do things that I love....walking, cooking (like you), gardening etc but not my fav hobby scrapbooking as yet....but that will come. Certainly a journey isn't it????

Continued success to you.......xxxx
