Feeling tempted on Champix!!... The triggers still remain

I quit today (using Champix) and it's only been an hour or two and I'm kinda feeling like a cigarette, but it's not a chemical craving, it's the habitual craving. How long does it take to break the shocking habit/triggers of smoking?
... for some reason I'm really digging coffee! oh well better than smoking.
Hi Timmmm. It's funny you say "kinda feeling like a cigarette" I also stopped smoking using Champix and that is exactly how I felt! It was a weird feeling but no soon had I the desire to have a smoke I could dismiss it really quickly. I think it was more the habit than a craving. For me this strange feeling of not knowing what to do has got less and less the more I teach myself to do other things instead of smoking. Even having said that the desire to have a cigarette can occur when your least expecting it. You just have to be prepared and willing to dismiss it as soon as it happens. Always have in the back of your mind the reasons you quit and focus on the goals you have set when you quit. It will get easier with time. Congratulations on quitting and remember to take it one day at a time. You will be over the moon once you have that 1st day under your belt. It will strengthen your will to succeed. All the best!

I'm on day 16 of champix I didn't fight the urge to smoke , as the days went by I smoked less and less day 16 and I couldn't think of anything worse than a ciggi . Now I can't even stand the smell

Hi I used Champix also, you will slowly turn off smoking , it will literally make you want get sick, rotten taste, and it seems pointless. I found the psychological hands thing lasted about two weeks. I'd be chatting on the phone and go to reach for something and be lost in mid air not knowing what I am searching for, them bang it hits. This goes on in scenarios where you smoked, like leaving the house Id be rooting in the bag, checking I have everything for ages and looking for smokes but not realizing it. Sometimes a sad feeling accompanies the realization, frustration many emotions. It's just a matter of adjusting to the change. One day at a time, focus on getting through each one the more time passes the further you go, facing each and every obstacle placed by addiction.
