Smoking is not an option... it is out-of-the question...
My motivation for quiting is crossing the marathon finish line:=)
Yet how does one deal with all the withdrawal side-effects: fatigue, what feels like a depressed feeling, decreased focus and decreased cognitive skills? I put all the tricks to the test: coffee, exercise, sleep, hobbies.... still nothing works well...
I did find though something that would dissociate decreased or abstinence from smoking and food (ie: how to prevent weight gain and/ or getting into habits that substitue food for smoking). I put aside all the food that I am planning to eat for the day and then lock the rest... may sound weird but who cares? at least it works for me:=)
I only wish I could find some trick that also works for all the cognitive withdrawal side effects... Help!

i am 140 days cold turkey and i have not replaced food for cigarettes for me giving up has been easy as but that is me you have to be in the right frame of mind well all the best.

I think you need to realise that your not missing out on anything if you have stopped smoking.
There is a book that really helps me, i often refer back to it if i need a refresher. its "Allen Carr - Easy way to stop smoking". Trust me, its a good read and will really put things in perspective, because from what your telling us is that ur coming in at it from a different mindframe.
